1. Agreement to these terms
By downloading or using ZappExpense ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Together with our Privacy Policy, these terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.

3. The app, in brief
ZappExpense is an envelope-budgeting tool that runs on your device. You create envelopes, allocate income, log expenses and track goals — and all of that data is stored locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not connect to your bank.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use ZappExpense, in line with GDPR. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
5. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use ZappExpense on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, subject to these terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. You may not sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit the app.
6. Price & payments
ZappExpense is currently free to download and use. If we introduce optional paid features in the future:
- They will be sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their payment terms;
- Subscriptions, renewals, cancellations and refunds are managed through your app store account;
- Applicable taxes (such as Portuguese VAT) may be added at checkout by the store;
- Where the law gives you a right of withdrawal — such as the 14-day right under EU consumer rules — that right applies as provided by law and by the relevant app store.
7. Your data & backups
Your budget data is stored on your device, which means you are responsible for keeping it safe. Please note:
- Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, will remove your data from the device;
- We cannot recover data that is lost, because we never hold a copy of it;
- The app provides an export feature so you can keep your own backup — we recommend exporting before changing or resetting devices.
8. Acceptable use
When using ZappExpense, you agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where the law expressly permits it;
- Introduce malicious code, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the app or any related systems;
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices in the app.
9. Intellectual property
The app, the ZappExpense name and logo, and all related designs and content are owned by Nevergetold, Lda and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't transfer any of those rights to you, other than the limited licence to use the app described above.
10. Not financial advice
ZappExpense is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. It helps you organise and track your own money, but it doesn't provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Decisions you make about your money are your own, and you should seek professional advice where appropriate.
11. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. This does not affect any mandatory legal warranties that apply to you as a consumer.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nevergetold, Lda will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including your mandatory rights as a consumer, and liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by us.
13. Changes to the app and these terms
We may update, improve, or discontinue features of the app, and we may revise these terms from time to time. When changes are material, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using ZappExpense and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. The courts of Torres Vedras, Portugal will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law entitles you to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
16. App store terms
If you downloaded ZappExpense from the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Where those terms conflict with ours, the App Store terms prevail for that store. Apple is not responsible for the app or for any support, warranty or claims relating to it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms to the extent they apply to your use on Apple devices. Equivalent terms apply to downloads from Google Play.
